On Trusting God

In Exodus 4:3, the LORD told Moses to throw his staff on the ground. Verses 3-5 go on to say "So he threw it on the ground, and it became a serpent; and Moses fled from it. But the LORD said to Moses, 'Stretch out your hand and grasp it by its tail' -- so he stretched out his hand and caught it, and it became a staff in his hand -- 'that they may believe that the LORD, the God of their fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, has appeared to you.' "

God spoke, and Moses followed (by stretching out his hand to catch what he feared). When God told him to "grasp" the serpent "by its tail," I wonder if Moses was still filled with the fear he seemed to have when he fled from it at first. This passage demonstrates how Moses trusted God and obeyed Him in spite of his initial fright. I then, too, should trust and obey God in the midst of insecurity or fear.
